Our 2 Day Trip to Lanzarote – Bonus Vlog

We left Fuerteventura on the first ferry out of Corralejo for our trip to Lanzarote to meet my son, his wife and her family in Playa Blanca. They were staying for 4 nights to celebrate Louise’s mother’s birthday. See Armas Ferry post.

After meeting up at the port we all headed towards El Golfo on the north-west coast for lunch. We stopped at Los Hervideros (“The Boiling Pots”) on the way which is a spectacular piece of coastline with underground caves and blow-holes you can look down in to.. Then we continued on to El Golfo and had a really nice lunch overlooking the sea at the Costa Azul Restaurant.

After a short walk to see the Green Lagoon, we then went back to Playa Blanca to the Rubicon Marina where we were meeting Miguel, the owner of the boat I had rented for the night (see link below). It is rather unique, being the only wooden yacht in the marina. It was certainly a great location being right in the heart of Marina Rubicón. The marina is lovely, with lots of bars and restaurants. I hadn’t been to the marina before and it certainly improved my opinion of Playa Blanca. We had pre-dinner drinks at the Blue Note jazz bar followed by dinner at Lanis restaurant, which was excellent.

I should have used the new JP in Fuerteventura motor yacht for the trip!

The following morning we drove to Arrecife for the obligatory visit to Ikea. This is something Sue insists on. We didn’t buy very much, thankfully, so after a coffee and a bite to eat we headed back to Playa Blanca for lunch at a Chinese restaurant. We then caught the 4pm ferry back to Fuerteventura. See Fred Olsen Express Ferry post.
