NEW CANARIAN COVID-19 TRAVEL INSURANCE
At last some good Fuerteventura news and some good covid-19 news.
The Canary Island government have taken out a travel insurance policy with AXA insurance which will cover all visitors to the Canary Islands, including Fuerteventura, should you become positive for Covid-19 during your visit. This means that you will be covered for the costs of repatriation, medical services and extended accommodation costs should you need to isolate here. This is good news as most of the slimy travel insurance companies are no longer covering travellers for covid related problems so at least now you will be covered if visiting the Canary Islands.
This does not mean that you will not need to take out separate travel insurance to cover the other potential risks – you still do!
Hopefully this will go some way to helping the ailing travel industry in the islands. We just need the British government to take the Canary Islands off the essential travel only list.
Fuerteventura only has 4 active cases of coronavirus on the island at the moment so it is a pretty safe destination (despite what the idiotic British government say). I update my Fuerteventura coronavirus situation every time there is a change so feel free to check it regularly – Current Fuerteventura Coronavirus Situation

This is a very innovative initiative by the Canarian government to try and boost the tourism industry (which definitely needs help).
I have been holidaying in Fuerteventura for over 30 years and have been living here full time since 2013. I have a popular Youtube channel related to this website called JP in Fuerteventura
