Fuerteventura is a beautiful island in the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa.
With its white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and year-round sunshine, it is no surprise that Fuerteventura is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe, particularly as a winter sun getaway.
I first visited the island more than 30 years and have been a resident for 10 years so I think I know the island as well as anyone.
Here are our favourite places to visit in Fuerteventura
1. Playa de Sotavento
This huge beach is one of the most beautiful in the world. With its white sand, crystal clear waters and spectacular views, it is easy to see why this is a favorite destination for tourists. It is a popular spot for windsurfing and kite boarding.
There are many lovely beaches all along this stretch of coast in the Jandia Peninsular, most of which are popular with naturists.

Visitors can explore the park on walking paths that wind through with it’s beautiful grounds and watch the animals in their natural habitats. The park also offers interactive activities, such as camel rides and bird and sea lion shows, as well as an outdoor playground.
There is also a restaurant where visitors can enjoy a meal while taking in the beautiful scenery. Oasis Park Fuerteventura is the perfect place for a fun-filled day for the whole family.
